17.09.2016… Surrey v Warks…

Surrey v Warwickshire

Lord’s… Saturday September 17th

Warwickshire won by 8 wickets

Ticket: £60Programme: £6

A comprehensive win for Warwickshire in the Royal London Cup Final at Lord’s…

Not a great game by any stretch of the imagination. Surrey set Warwickshire a very small total, Jonathan Trott in all likelihood could have chased it down by himself. The desired outcome though, so no complaints…

And Lord’s? Well I have to say that I’m not a big fan. It had the feel of a particularly wealthy independent school, or possibly a cricketing amusement park. Anyway, whatever it is, it’s not a patch on Edgbaston…

Edgbaston… Saturday August 20th…

Steelbacks won by 4 wickets

Ticket: £71 – Programme: £6

A win for Northamptonshire Steelbacks in the 2016 T20 Blast Final…

A very fast turnaround expected from Durham though, due to the rain affected nature of the day. Within half an hour of winning their semi-final, Durham were batting again…

Durham made 153 from their 20 overs, Keaton Jennings making 88 before being caught on the boundary. They got off to a cracking start in the field too, reducing Northamptonshire to 9 for 3.

It was downhill from there though, with Alex Wakely and Josh Cobb putting on 120 for the fourth wicket. Cobb went on to make 80, and to claim the Man of the Match award.

Northamptonshire won by 4 wickets with 5 balls to spare…
