Newcastle United 3 Barnsley 0

St. James’ Park… Sunday May 7th… 3pm

Attendance: 52,276

Ticket: £35 – Programme: £3

Those last five crazy minutes. That’s why we do it….

Dwight Gayle was wandering back to the halfway line for the restart as the the news came through. The noise was incredible. Laughing one minute, crying the next, utter hysteria…

Then the final whistle and the wait for word from Villa Park; and then, for the second time, the noise…

Second Half: 3-0 Up, All Eyes On Villa Park…

It feels like more of an achievement than 1993 or 2010. It was harder earned, there were setbacks along the way…

After wins at Brighton and Huddersfield, the title looked like a foregone conclusion. However, leaving Portman road last month, there were real doubts as to whether automatic promotion would be achieved at all. But when it mattered, into the last three games and seven points behind, the players pulled it off. Brighton didn’t bottle it, the league table doesn’t lie, we were just that little bit better…

Newcastle United, EFL Champions 2017, and a small taste of what could have happened on the last day in 1996, if only the stars had aligned…

Thank You Rafa…

The seven game unbeaten run ended, and Nuneaton’s home programme finishing on a bit of a low…

After a terrible start to the season though, mid-table obscurity feels like an achievement…

Not the best of afternoons. In fact, the loudest cheer came on the train on the way back towards Peterborough, when Huddersfield conceded a late equaliser at Derby…

Ipswich’s largest home gate of the season, 2,334 more than attended the derby game against Norwich…

First Half: Newcastle Attack…

Most likely the last time that I’ll ever attempt to sit quietly in the home end when i can’t get a ticket. Even if you win, it’s really not worth it. It really isn’t very nice to hear what the home supporters think of your club, and your support, when you have absolutely no right of reply; and, in this instance, whilst losing…

Sunderland 2 West Ham United 2

Stadium of Light… April 15th… 3pm

My excuse? I’d never been to The Stadium of Light…

Two rare goals for Sunderland, the first direct from a corner, the second a late equaliser. Although a solitary point is of little use to them in their attempt at yet another great escape…
